Two Worlds

Divorce was not something you see everyday when my dad was a kid. Know almost everyone has parents that are divorced. Its hard to go back and forth to each house. Sometimes its worth is other times you don't want to go there, but you have to because you love still love them no matter what. There is always at least one thing wrong with one of your parent's houses, if your parents are divorced. When you at one of your parent's house you start to miss the other like crazy but you have to suffer through it and just hold in there till it's time to see the other. My mom is going through a divorce right now. So it will be the second one I have gone through with my mom. It helps to have someone by your side through divorces, I think. My mom has been divorced three times after Robert. She doesn't want to marry anyone after it because anyone could change at any minute. My dad has only been divorced once with my mom. That was hard to go through because I didn't know my mom and dad were having fights and wanted to get divorced. One night me, Samuel, Sydney, and Mackenzie were asleep my dad kissed us and we woke up. He told us we was leaving and didn't know if he was coming back. I was scared because I didn't want to lose my dad. He did come back that night but it didn't last long after that. None of us know what it was like to have to go to our dad's house then our mom's house. Then Robert came. I thought we was trying to take my dad's spot so I didn't like him at first. Than later came Traci. I was scared when I first met her because she was holding my dad's hand the way my mom, as i thought, was suppose to. So what I am saying is it's hard having two worlds.

Going To Town

Today me, my dad, Traci, Alli, Hannah, Hayden, and Samuel all went shopping kind of. Our trip was fun and weird at the same time. First we went to a thrift shop to drop off toys. Then we went to a different thrift shop and dropped off two trash bags of clothing. We went inside and started to look at all the clothing. Hannah found these sandals and got those. Alli found this shirt that was a tank top and was like a cream color and it buttoned up on the front. Then I found two shirts. One was orange with lase on the back, and the other one was a black, white, and gray shirts with like flowers everywhere. I thought it would be cute with a colorful tank top under it. Then Hayden wanted two books, so he found two books, one was about Pokémon. He wanted something else too, so he started looking everywhere. Then we later found a vase. Then my dad found these shorts. They had a weird design on the back. The shorts looked like jeans on my dad, but high water pants. I was really funny so I took a picture on my phone and sent it to my sister, Sydney. She told me to tell my dad that he had to buy them. My dad never bought them, but I will always have the picture to remember. That was the end of the thrift shop shopping. Then we went to Dollar General. Me and Alli were hiding from Hannah at first but then she found us. After that Alli found these nail stickers and got those. Then I found a coloring book and I got that, because like before I love to color. Then Hayden found this sticky, slimy stuff and got that, then we found candy too. My dad and Traci bought stuff to clean the house with.

Weird Moments

At my dad's house we have a lot of funny but weird moments. Like in the picture below my dad decided to buy peacock pants. We call them his unlucky pants. Talking about weird moments my sister, Abbi, and I were on our beds and out of the random she says I don't like boys, but I don't like girls either. I bug her about it all the time as a joke because I just happened this summer.

20 Seconds of Courage

Just five seconds ago me and Abbi, my sister, had 20 seconds of courage. We ran outside in the severe thunderstorm, it was hailing, and we were screaming while counting to 20. While we were outside my sister, Sydney, thought she locked us outside. Thankfully she didn't. Right after we can inside me and Abbi heard the sirens, and they are still going off. If you have a different way out having 20 seconds of courage comment below.

Fast Food

This is another argument between me and my sister, Abbi. We are going to talk about fast foods today. She thinks all fast foods are bad, while I think some are ok. If you agree with my sister, Abbi, go to her blog and see what she had to say www.abbiashlock.blogspot.com.

My favorite fast food would probably be Wendy's. I always get their frosty and chicken nuggets. Some fast foods I cannot stand like Burger Kind because it is almost always greasy. I also can't stand Taco Bell, but I don't know why I can't stand it. It's probably because I don't like the taste. But McDonalds taste good but I know it's really bad for your health. Fast food is also everywhere, so if you are in a rush you can just go through the drive thru. Also they are everywhere. They are also on TV commercial so when you are in town and you are trying to think of something to think you remember the fast food commercials on TV.

Who do you think won the argument? Comment below who you think.

Fake Smiles

Fake Smiles. Something everyone hides behind even I do. Sometime you want people to see that your sad but you can't put yourself to say a word besides I'm ok or I'm fine. Inside you are dying but for the smallest reason you still have that light that helps you keep fighting.

My Song

My favorite song is Like Jesus Does By: Eric Church. I don't know why but I just love this song.

I'm a long-gone Waylon song on vinyl,
I'm a back row sinner at a tent revival,
But she believes in me like she believes her Bible,
And loves me like Jesus does.

I'm a lead foot leaning on a souped-up Chevy,
I'm a good old boy, drinking whiskey and rye on the levee,
But she carries me when my sins make me heavy,
And loves me like Jesus does.

All the crazy in my dreams,
Both my broken wings,
Every single piece of everything I am,
Yeah, she knows the man I ain't,
She forgives me when I can't,
The devil, man, no, he don't stand a chance,
'Cause she loves me like Jesus does.

I always thought she'd give up on me one day,
Wash her hands of me, leave me staring down some runway,
But I thank God each night, and twice on Sunday,
That she loves me like Jesus does.

All the crazy in my dreams,
And both my broken wings,
Every single piece of who I am,
Yeah, she knows the man I ain't,
She forgives me when I can't,
And the devil, man, no, he don't have a prayer,
'Cause she loves me like Jesus does.

Yes, she knows the man I ain't,
She forgives me when I can't,
That devil, man, he don't stand a chance
She loves me like Jesus does.

I'm a long-gone Waylon song on vinyl.

John Jr.

Tuesday I got a new baby cousin. My dad's brother, John, and his wife, Missy, had another baby ( number 4 ) and the baby was a boy. They have three girls, Harley, Riley, and Kinsley. For the Volckos you have to have three girls than you get a boy. For us it was Mackenzie, Sydney, me, and than Samuel. But before that my grandma had two boys, my dad and John. I guess later on it go switched up. My uncle John had always wanted a son. All through middle school he would draw pictures of the son he was going to have. Well as you can see his wish came true. John Jr. is having some breathing problems but they think it's caused by him coming early. But John, my uncle, also can early and had breathing problems too. But, as my grandma told me, she saw her grandma ( I think it was her grandma ) and her grandma told her that everything is fine, and later on he was fine. So hopefully John Jr. will have the same thing happen to him.

Storms

I hate thunderstorm because my science teacher Mr. Baker made his 3rd hour watch videos about storms and tornadoes and other types of storms. There was this one video about a tornado. Well in the video there was this little boy and mom in the car. They were trying to get home but there was a tornado, so they driving and stop under an over pass. The two of them run to the foundation of the over pass and hold on to the poles. Before they got there a teen girl and a dad were hugging to poles too. Then the mom tells the little boy that she loves him and to always remember that, and the little boy said ok momma. Not even a second later she was sucked in to the tornado. That was the last time that little boy say his mom. The teen girl and dad later notice that the mom was no longer there. The dad takes the little boy and hugs him and said its ok everything is going to be ok. The dad adopted the little boy and they all still live today. That scared me because I would be so sad if I saw a tornado take my mom.

Bullying

I am going to tell you some facts about bullying.

1.) Over 3.2 people are victims of bullying each year.

2.) 1 in 4 teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene 4 percent of the time.

3.) Approximately 160,000 skip school everyday because of bullying.

4.) 1 in 7 students in grades K-12 are either a bully or a victim of being bullying.

5.) 56 percent of students have personally witnessed some type of bullying at school.

6.) Over two-thirds of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is infrequent and ineffective.

7.) 71 percent of students report incidents of bullying as a problem at their school.

8.) 90 percent of 4th through 8th graders report being victims of bullying.

9.) 1 out 10 students drop out of school because of repeated bullying.

10.) Harassment and bullying have been linked to 75 percent of school-shooting incidents.

11.) Physical bullying increases in elementary school, peaks in middle school and declines in high school.  Verbal abuse, on the other hand, remains constant.

You could help and stop bullying, so do you part.

Safe Haven

I am going to talk about the difference in the movie and the book called Safe Haven.

The Book
Katie had an abusive relationship and stayed with her husband. When he was mad at her he would hit her and kick her but tell her he still loves her. He told her one time that he loved her so much that he want to kick her and punch her. So she runs off. She cuts her hair really short and dyes it blond. She was has ran away two times before this time but came back or he found her. So she changes her name to her neighbor's daughter's name ( because she died ). She went to different cities and had different names in every city so she could work. She stays in a city for a longer than normal and found a guy with kids and worked as a waitress. Her husband later found her and set the house on fire then she was watching the guys kids. She saved the kids and got away. He found out that her real name was Erin. Than everything went to normal, and they lived happily ever after.

The Movie
Katie has in a abusive relationship like above. She ran off, cut her hair, and dyed it blond. She runs away, and she goes to a lot of cities. She took her neighbor's daughter's name that died. She changed her name back and forth. She stays at this one city for a long amount of time. She worked as a waitress. Her husband later found her like above and set the house on fire, but the dad/guy saved the kids, and later finds out that her name was really Erin. And they lived happily ever after.

Caramel or Butter

Caramel popcorn and butter popcorn? Me and my sister, Abbi, are both blogging as I have told you before, and we are going to cover a topic and we thought popcorn because who doesn't love popcorn. I chose caramel popcorn over butter popcorn because I love caramel. I also prefer sweet over salty. Butter popcorn is ok. I'm not saying I can't stand it but I like caramel better. Butter popcorn is to salty sometimes and is to soft. Also it almost always gets stuck in your teeth. I'm also not saying that caramel doesn't but just not as often. If you like butter popcorn better than caramel go to the link below to see my sister's side of it.

Summer Money

Summer is here as you guys know it. Me and my sister, Abbi, want to make money so we can buy our own laptop. These are some ways we are going to make money and you could do the same.

Mow Lawns
Me and Abbi are going to mow my grandma's yard, even though we would make that much each time it could help a little. My grandma has her house and than an apartment that she has to mow and that's a lot to mow, so she asked us. We are going to mow both yards every week on Friday or around that day.

Blogging
We read on a blog that he made money by blogging plus me and Abbi thought about doing it before we read his blog. It said you could make about a hundred dollars every month, but that took him three years to start making money.

Cleaning Houses
Cleaning houses is also an easy way to make money. My grandma gave me six dollars to clean her house, but it was the basic stuff it wasn't full on cleaning.

Sell T-shirts
Me and Abbi make die dye shirts/tank top. We later thought about selling them but never did. Well it crossed our minds again. To make the die dye shirts/tank top you can use paint or sharpies.

Garage Sale
If you have a lot of stuff or closing that you don't use anymore you could sell them to get more money. We have five girls at my dad's so we have a lot of clothing.

Baby Sitting
Baby sitting is also an easy way to make money if you like kids. Me and Abbi told my grandma and step mom, Traci, to tell people that we are open to baby sitting.

Car Wash
We haven't tried this one out but we hope to. We want to see if my dad, Traci, Grandparents, and other family members if they would pay us for washing their car. Hopefully it works.

Selling Cookies
Making and selling cookies are easy ways to make money. You can bake them at home and sell them to people who work at your parents work.

Getting The Word Out
We also thought about getting the word out by posters. So if anyone needs help cleaning houses they could just call us. Same for baby sitting.

If you live in Bolivar and are reading this comment if you need help with the things above and we will see what we can do.

To Many People. Not Enough Space

At my dad's there is are seven kids and then our parents. We live in Bolivar witch I guess you could call it a small town. At my dad's house, witch isn't very big, we have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, and a kitchen. In the master bedroom the four oldest girls sleep in there, Sydney, Abbi, me, and Alli. Then in another room there are the three youngest kids, Samuel, Hannah, and Hayden. Then the last room is my dad's and Traci's room. The rooms aren't that small but we make it work.

We all have our "own rooms". Our own rooms are our beds and our cubbies. My dad made us cubbies to put our stuff in, and he put in on the wall right above our beds. We can put anything in it that we want.

In my cubby I keep a book, a water bottle, my purse, a notebook, a coloring book, pens and pencils, Kleenex's, my glasses, and my phone.

The living room gets crowded, but no once is hardly ever in the living room in the same time so it usually isn't that crowded.

Wells that's all I really have to tell you about not having enough space.

Rough Times

I would like to tell you what it's like to live with someone who has bipolar, which is a sickness. What makes it hard is that they don't understand that they are sick and need help.

My mom married the love of her life, Robert, and was the happiest she ever could be. He began to get these really bad headaches. He went to the hospital and got medicine, which helped for a little bit. Then he would always be tired and always sleep. Then that's when he started to get moody. He would get mad at the littlest of things. He got mad that my brother Samuel sat at in his chair at the table. Before all of that my mom asked him if he was going to eat and he said no and went back to sleep. He later came in and saw Samuel in his chair. He stormed upstairs and grabbed his gun and went outside. It scared all of us and he wouldn't tell us what he was doing. He sat in his car and stayed there for a long time. He later came in and was fine. Those kinds of moments happen anytime, all the time. There also night were I stayed up just listening to yelling because my mom was trying to tell him something and he would start yelling at her.

Last weekend I went to a festival with my mom, Back 40. It was a bluegrass festival and Robert was there. My mom later explained how hard it was for her to chose her kids or the love of her life. She told me she thought she found the one. She use to sing this song about a wife telling her husband goodbye but to both of them. Everyone ask her to sing that song but she can't anymore because its to close to home as she says.

I might not understand the pain my mom went through, but I could only imagine what it felt like.

The Rules

I'm thirteen and still have rules. There are a lot of them and sometimes it's really hard to remember and follow all of them but somehow I do.

No Texting Past 9:00 p.m.
This rule is sometimes hard, especially when you lose track of time, but most of my friends understand that I have this rule and remind me.

No Dating Till You Are Eighteen
When we are eighteen we are allowed to go on dates alone, but when we are sixteen we are allowed to have boys over but our parents have to be home. There are some loop holes... as my sister Alli calls it we can "claim" the boy just not touching. That means we can call them our boyfriend but we are not allowed to hold hands or hug or anything close to that.

All Closing Is Approved By My Dad
When we go to church we are not allowed to have to dresses more than an inch above your knee.

No Dances
We are not allowed to go to dance, but we are allowed to go to our proms.

No Cussing Unless You Are In The Living Room
We are not allowed to cuss unless we are in our living room, but as my sister Sydney says only cussing on carpet.

There are other rules but most of them change so it's hard to keep up with the rules.

All About Me

I'm Olivia Jewell Volcko. I am starting a blog to let everyone know what my life is like. Sometimes it's really easy, but other times its not worth going through. I am going to tell you all the basic stuff about me. My dad's name is Stephen Volcko, which is married to Traci Mayfield Volcko. My mom's name is Cheri Bruner but is currently going through with a divorce with Robert Bruner. I have a lot of siblings, probably more than you would expect. My only full blood sister is Sydney Renee Volcko. My only full blood brother is Samuel Isaiah Volcko. I have one have sister which is Mackenzie Jo Walters. Then for my step siblings on my dad's side, Abigail Grace Ashlock, Mattie Allison Ashlock, Hannah Paige Harper, and Hayden Charles Harper. Then on my mom's side, for the time being, Blake Bruner, Layne Bruner, Jared Bruner, Shane Bruner, and Rachelle Meyers. If you weren't keeping track that makes 12 siblings not counting me.

Now for the stuff about me...I am thirteen years old. I would die without music! One other thing that I could possible die with my guitar. I also like to draw and color, sometimes I feel like a little kid. My favorite color is lime green and purple. I really bad at getting into things that I have no clue about ( like picture below ) like thinking you are having a mud fight, but I am really having a chicken poop fight.
